Live in Me

Stay joined to me and I will stay joined to you. No branch can produce fruit alone. It must stay connected to the vine. It is the same with you. You cannot produce fruit alone. You must stay joined to me.

John 15: 4

Stemming from our previous devotional “You Are Ready” Christ shared the good news to His disciples. They were ready to carry out their missions. They were already prepared to handle Kingdom Business without Him physically being there. However, He instructed them to never stray away from Him. In order for them to produce fruit it was essential for them to remain connected to the True Vine.

I can say that it is the same for us. If Jesus was physically walking with us, we would possibly have this similar conversation. Many of us have been walking on this student – teacher journey for a long time now. Under His training He has imparted so much truth while all this led to our personal healing. He has redeemed us back to Himself. Whatever baggage we were carrying He freed us from them all. His lectures gave us hope, love, joy and peace. It opened our eyes to see this world and our mission through His eyes. Walking with Him over these years has pruned us to become exactly what He had in mind when He thought of us. The wilderness journey is complete and now it’s time to go out into the world and preach the gospel of peace to everyone far and wide. We are ready to possess our promised land. We are ready to perform wonders in His name. We are ready to fully answer the call.

One thing remains abundantly true though, we must never forget about His truth, His laws, His commands and His name. He is the only True Vine and any other vine is false and will lead us astray. Lovingly He cautions us with His great wisdom. He lets us know that in order for us to produce any fruit, we must stay connected to Him. Think of a tree. If a branch is broken off from the tree how much life will it have alone? Eventually over time this branch will dry up due to a lack of nutrients flowing into it. In order for it to bring forth fruit it has to be connected to the main source which is, the tree itself. This is true for us also. We are to make our whole life surround Him only. Choosing to live in Him opens the door for Him to live inside of us too. The two of us together become one. We hear Him clearer and obey Him better. It then becomes easier for us to do the will of our Father. As we daily and intentionally abide in Him we produce an abundance of wealthy and eternal fruit. Our fruit will impact not only our lives but those around us and even people far and wide. This will bring joy to the Father and we will be rewarded for working in alignment with Him.

Let us allow His wisdom to bring life and meaning to our understanding. If we stray away and choose to pursue life without Him, He cannot remain in us otherwise He will not remain true to His Word. He desires that We choose life with Him everyday and allow Him to have his full work done in us so that we will always have an abundance of fruit produced. He is our source of life and all necessary resources needed for this journey can only come from Him regardless of what other sources say. Any other vine is fake and will lead us down a dark and dreadful road; one that leads to destruction. He has come to give us life and life more abundantly, so please remain in Him and choose life. Many generations will be blessed because of our obedience.

Let us choose this day to serve Him Only!

“Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me.” – MSG –
